1837 Insurance Map
The depictions on this 1837 insurance map can be described as almost, but not quite, exactly unlike something in the range of semi-inaccurate-ish. In short, we think they might be off a bit. Perhaps by 20 ft or so, if the results of the summer south yard excavations are of any indication. By any measure, excavating a scattershot of units across the general area of the smokehouse and north house allowed us to find some enticing evidence, if not the tidy field-stone foundations that tend to elude us.
